IRAP: End of Life and Data Removal

Guidance for managing the discontinuation of DekkoCORE

This page explains what happens to your DekkoCORE software, accounts and data when DekkoCORE, one of its apps or one of its versions reaches end of life. It also covers how files and backups are destroyed.

When software reaches end of life

DekkoSecure tells customers at least 3 months before DekkoCORE, one of its apps or one of its versions stops being supported. The notice explains what you need to do.

Removing the software

The DekkoCORE web app runs in your browser, so there is nothing to install or uninstall for it. Sign out to end your session on that device.

The DekkoSecure desktop apps are optional. If you have installed any, uninstall them from your computer as you would any other application.

Keeping your data

Before you leave DekkoCORE, download the files you want to keep. Files are stored encrypted and are decrypted in your browser when you download them.

Download any files you need before your access ends. Once files are permanently deleted, they cannot be recovered from DekkoCORE.

Removing user accounts

Deleting your own account

To delete your own account:

  1. Select Settings.
  2. Select Account.
  3. Select Delete account.

When your account is deleted:

  • You can no longer sign in.
  • Your email addresses and trusted-user links are removed.
  • Your Hub memberships are removed.

Deleting your account does not delete the files you uploaded. Files you shared with other users stay available to them with the permissions you gave. Before you delete your account, delete any files you no longer want others to access.

The last person who holds a tenancy's Fusion Hub key cannot delete their account. This keeps the tenancy's documents readable.

Removing a user from a tenancy

A Tenancy Manager can remove a user from all Hubs in the tenancy. The user can still log in to DekkoCORE but loses access to the content that has been shared with them. For more detail, see Removing Users and Offboarding.

Destroying data

Automatic deletion

A Tenancy can be set to:

  • Delete files automatically once they were uploaded more than a set number of days ago. The policy is off by default, and the minimum age is 30 days.
  • Archive files instead, where the Recycle bin policy is turned on.

When files are deleted rather than archived, a backup of each deleted file is kept for a set period before it is removed. The default is 14 days. Email attachments are not included in these backups.

End of your service

At the end of your service, DekkoSecure deletes your tenancy, its accounts and its files within 30 days after the agreement ends. This gives you time to download the files you want to keep first. On request, DekkoSecure will confirm the deletion in writing.

Backups

  • The database's daily automatic backups, and their copy in a second Australian region, are kept for 14 days. Deleted records leave these backups within that time.
  • Copies of the database backups held in a locked backup store are kept for at least 14 days.
