Create a ZIP File

How to compress files into a ZIP archive before uploading.

If you're uploading more than 200 files, we strongly recommend compressing your data into a ZIP file before uploading to DekkoCORE. Uploading, sharing and downloading hundreds of individual files can take a long time, because DekkoCORE encrypts each file separately on your computer.

Note: ZIP files cannot be unzipped in the DekkoCORE app.

Create a ZIP file on Windows

  1. Right-click on the files or folder(s) and select "Compress to ZIP file":

Windows File Explorer context menu with several folders selected, showing the "Compress to Zip file" option highlighted.

  2. Your computer will create a ZIP file in the same location as the original folder/files:

Windows Explorer showing folders Contracts, Legal, Pricing, Procurement and Research, with a new ZIP file named "Pricing.zip" being renamed in an edit box.

That's it! You are ready to upload and share your ZIP file.

Create a ZIP file on a Mac

  1. Right-click on the files or folder(s) and select "Compress":

Right-click menu on a Mac with four screenshot files selected in Finder; the "Compress" option is highlighted.

  2. Your Mac will create a ZIP file in the same location as the original folder/files (we suggest renaming the file):

Finder window showing a selected file named "Archive.zip" highlighted in blue, with a cloud download icon and a red arrow pointing to it.

That's it! You are ready to upload and share your ZIP file.
