This article will show you how to initiate a single or multi-party document signing request workflow
eSignature worklfows supports PDF and DOCX (Word) file formats.
Please note when using DOCX, the conversion process may alter your document's layout slightly - double check before you press send!
- Upload your document to the appropriate Hub, select it, and press "Request Signature":
- Enter the name(s) or email(s) of the user(s) that you require approval from (press enter or click to add to the list):
If your corporate policy allows, unregistered users can be added to requests. Be sure set the appropriate user type (team member/external member) before proceeding.
Optionally, an access expiry and notes can also be added. - Press "Next" to open the approval template interface:
NOTE: at this point you can send a specified request (with set approval elements) or an open request (no set approval elements)
Specified request
This method allows you to choose the approval elements (signature, text, etc.) the approver(s) must satisfy to complete the request, in the form of blocks.
When the approver opens the document they simply click the element blocks to fill them in using the new eSignature interface.
- Navigate to the portion of the document that requires approval markup (signature, text, etc.). Select the first (or only) user, choose a markup element and place it on the page:
- If another party is part of your request, select them from the approver list and then add required elements:
If approval markup is required on other pages, navigate to them and repeat the steps above. - When you are ready, press send:
Approver(s) will be notified via email that they have a pending eSignature approval from you.
Open request
This method allows the approver(s) to satisfy your approval in the best way they see fit. The document will be marked as approved if they add at least one signature to it and then finalise.
From the approver's perspective, the interface is exactly the same as the legacy approval experience.
To send an open request, simply press "Send" when the request interface opens:
Approver(s) will be notified via email that they have a pending eSignature approval from you.
